Thanks, Bill.

I'm really looking forward to all the overreaction over Bryz's sarcastic (and funny) comment about the "supportive" crowd last night.

I'm just happy knock knock was the tune of the night last night. No better way to end a game than a Jagr salute.

WOW!

The Flyers played at an extremely high level last night.

They were all over the Jets! Pavelec was awesome last night although I thought he allowed a fair amount of juicy rebounds.

Give Bryz the start against Edm. Let him play and play alot. The Flyers sink or swim with Bryz in net.

Kubina looked solid last night. A couple of turnovers but his shot is something this team needs. A right handed d-man on the Flyers, looks strange.

The important thing, the thing that Bryzgalov needs to build on, is that after the 4th goal, he allowed nothing else. Bad goals are gonna happen. Where a guy builds confidence is, not letting one bad goal turn into two bad goals.

He was uneven, but he got stronger and did what he needed to do to help the team get the two points.

He's immense, too. You see him and you realize what 6'4" and 260 lbs of defenseman looks like.

unfortunately, thats become a mantra.

it's still far from good enuf, but we can hope he builds on the saves in OT and the no quit from the team last nite.

So if JVR was faking his concussion to not get traded, what do we call that performance?

It was GREAT to see the team not giving up after that 4th goal. They went after the Jets like crazy and got a win for their goalie. If that were me, I'm taking out the whole team to dinner today.

The thing is, confidence isn't rebuilt over night. It's going to be a step by step process.

Pure balls. He played a good game throughout. The work he did leading to the 4th goal was awesome to see.

yep. In a 7 game series having Kubina and Grossman wearing down the opposing teams forwards will only help.

Holmger added some quality guys with Grossman and Kubina.

I thought people would be making more of a big deal about Jagr's comment ""That's what made us so dangerous in the first half of the season - any line you put on the ice can score," Jagr said. "Then we kind of switched [because] there were a lot of injuries. We have to go back to that. It doesn't matter how many they score against us; we know we can score a lot of goals."

It doesn't matter how many they score against us!?! Sounds like there might be a slight lack of confidence in his goalies.

I feel very good about JVR. He certainly has made a turn for the better since his return. The way he controlled the puck for that whole play leading up the Simmer goal was reminicent of his play in the 2nd period against Boston in the playoffs (was that gane 3?).

BTW, as frustrating as Bryz has been, it has been even more frustrating to read the mainstream media take on it which is over blown--where EVERY goal is blamed on him. Bill always brings down to earth and plays it even handed. I reamain hopefull that Bryz will come around. I agree that Lavy needs to keep playing him.

the general fan will go along with what the media write, so if it's negative than guess what the general fan will agree and boo the hell out of whoever is in net.

I thought Bryz played an average game but he did come back each time from the goals to play solid. It's time to build off of that and keep him in net the next few games.

While it's nice that all 4 lines can be productive offensively, I'd like to hear more comments from the players regarding their collective defensive play, because it does matter how many goals they score on you.

I just want them to acknowledge that they are aware of the problem.

I promise that they will also be on the ice for a few more goals against before the season and playoffs are over.

I think Lidstrom has been on the ice for a few goals against in his career, also.

It happens.

I took it to mean that they don't really care all that much about paying attention to defense.

I took it to mean: Homgren sucks, Bryz is a clown and Bob should be playing in the ECHL.

I loved Bryz's comments last night.... When asked about the atmosphere in Winterpeg he said, "Its great. I have never heard 19 thousand people cheering for me. The energy was great." Then the reporter asked if it was similiar to Philly and Bryz said, "No, Dey Boo me in Philly." But he was obviously joking...

And in Briere's interview last night he said with about 3 minutes left in the game Giroux turned to him and said, "We Are going to win this game." and Briere said, "Ok, Lets do it then." Man that is what I like to hear... Stuff like that gives teams confidence.
